Dietary Supplement Regulation around the world : Part 1

For most countries worldwide, Conventional Foods, Functional Foods, Dietary Supplements, Nutraceuticals are regulated as a category of Food. Some form of registration or notification approach has been established in different countries.
Regulators mainly rely on established formal “positive” and/or “negative” ingredient lists during evaluation. 
Some countries rely only on positive list, others only a negative list; while some countries rely on both. On the other hand, some countries rely on a broader approach of reviewing each ingredients. 

Argentina:      Registration
ASEAN:          Notification, Registration, restricted list
Australia:        Notification having positive lists
Brazil:             Registration having positive lists
Canada:          Registration having special monograph system
Chile:              Notification
China:             Registration, Notification, having both positive and negative list
Colombia:       Registration
EU:                  Notification, having positive list, and separate novel food regulation
India:               Registration having positive list
Japan:             None
Mexico:            Registration having positive list
Nepal:              Registration, some positive ad negative list with broader review approach
Russia:            Registration having positive list
USA:                Notification having GRAS, New and Old Dietary Ingredients list
